Pillars of Genius presentations are designed to introduce participants to the process of discovering their own unique genius and designing their career as an extension of who they are at their core with the purpose of creating a career of self-expression, effectiveness, and impact that is rarely experienced by (yet entirely possible for all) faculty members.

Presentation #1: Stop Being Everything to Everyone

Faculty members are overwhelmed and overcommitted, saying 'Yes' to whatever they can, should, or must do - and are pulled in too many directions.  Valuable senior faculty cannot envision how to sustain their academic career at this rate and assume the issue is their institution, colleagues - or themselves - and they can't see how to change it.

This presentation introduces faculty members to the innovative and provable truth - that the power to focus and create an academic career of clear contribution and impact is not defined by the area of study, but by the unique self-expression of who they are at their core.

Outcomes

Faculty members will:

  • Recognize the distinction between "strengths and talents" versus "who you are at your core".
  • Discover that overwhelm and overwork is not caused by external pressure, but a lack of internal clarity.
  • Learn the secret tool to make clear, confident decisions quickly.
  • Practice conversations that enroll others in their unique genius.

Includes

  • 60-90 minutes
  • Live Q&A
  • Handouts & Follow-up Resources

Presentation #2: Align Your Academic Career with Who You Are

In this presentation, we build on the content from Presentation #1. Faculty consider the direct relationship between their effectiveness as an academic, and how deeply their career is aligned with their unique genius and career purpose.

Using case studies and tools, this presentation introduces faculty members to the innovative concept that faculty members can be authentically powerful, in control, and design their career to align with who they are at their core.

Outcomes

Faculty members will:

  • Recognize most frustrations as misalignment with who they are and/or their Career Purpose.
  • Identify 3 ways to bring who they are into the classroom to improve student's experience.
  • Discover their own leadership style empowered by who they are at their core.
  • Understand how to create a clear and cohesive scholarly profile to be known for what they uniquely do.

Includes

  • 60-90 minutes
  • Live Q&A
  • Handouts & Follow-up Resources
